Spring Awards Winners 2025

Anchor Group Services proudly announces the winners of the All Stars Spring Awards 2025, recognising exceptional staff who have gone above and beyond. These awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals and teams who demonstrate excellence and dedication within the organisation.

WINNER!

Georgina Hiles, Anchor HQ

Georgina was nominated for the Above & Beyond Award in recognition of her exceptional contributions to Ocean Parking and the broader Anchor business over the past 15 months. She played an integral role in ensuring a smooth shift from the British Parking Association Approved Operator Scheme to the International Parking Community, showcasing her deep understanding of industry regulations and her proactive approach to change management.

She has consistently gone above and beyond, putting in extra hours—often working late into the evening, at weekends, and even during personal leave—to ensure that business objectives, project timelines, and customer expectations were met, pushing the business towards greater success.

Assefa Bayley, Media City

Assefa was nominated for the Above & Beyond award by his manager for his bravery in preventing the robbery of an expensive motorcycle. While carrying out his external duties, Assefa observed two suspicious individuals armed with tools and wearing face coverings attempting to steal a parked motorbike. With no security personnel present at the time, Assefa acted swiftly and fearlessly, firmly challenging their actions, attracting attention from security staff, ensuring help would arrive.

His decisive intervention left the thieves with no choice but to abandon their attempted robbery and flee the scene empty-handed. His presence of mind and courage in handling the situation safely yet effectively prevented a crime and safeguarded the property of Media City.

Assefa not only delivers his job brilliantly every time he is on duty, he also has a very

proactive attitude and is willing to help and do anything he is asked for. 

Assefa's act was passed onto the client who praised him and expressed his gratitude

for his most definitely Above and Beyond Act.

Darren Harris, Gloucester Quays

Darren received the Community award in recognition of his efforts during a visit from students from The Milestone School. During the visit, Darren embraced his role as an entertainer and showed his community spirt, going the extra mile to dress up as a dinosaur, sparking excitement and pure joy among the visiting pupils, making their experience special.

We are delighted to recognise Darren with the Community Award, honouring his exceptional efforts in creating a truly memorable and joyous experience for students from The Milestone School during their visit to Gloucester Quays. His enthusiasm, dedication, and ability to engage with the community exemplify the very spirit of this award.

Richard Thorogood - Anchor HQ

" Having worked closely with Rich over the past year he has been a real team player. Dave Phillips, Market Place Shopping Centre

Dave received the Core Values award in recognition of his outstanding dedication and contribution to the service delivery at Market Place Shopping Centre, exemplifying the core values of Anchor in his swift and effective response to a critical power outage. Dave demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills and unwavering commitment to service when a major electrical failure impacted Market Place, including CCTV, phone lines, lighting, and access control systems.

Through his expertise and determination, Dave successfully reinstated power across the site, mitigating disruptions to tenants, staff, and customers.


"As our Dual Services Manager,  Dave has for more than 20 years been a very reliable and reassuring presence at the heart of Market Place Shopping Centre. Recognised by his immediate colleagues with this nomination through every busy period, early start, and unexpected challenge, he lives our Anchor core values with pride, always going above and beyond to keep the Centre safe, welcoming, and running smoothly. His dedication, reliability, and genuine care for both the team he manages, and the public make  a true ambassador of our values. Congratulations"

Thomas Chasampalis, Media City

Thomas was nominated for the Impact award by his manager for an incident that occurred at Media City when faced with an urgent challenge. Following a protest, thousands of offensive and graphic-content stickers were left across the building’s facades. With a tight deadline to ensure all stickers were removed before tenants returned on Monday morning, Thomas worked tirelessly, washing the affected areas late into the evening, using machinery for visibility to complete the task.

His outstanding work did not go unnoticed, receiving praise from both clients and management for his professionalism and exceptional contributions.


"Since July 2013, Thomas has been a constant presence at MediaCity, and since January 2019, he’s done so under the Anchor Group Services banner, representing our culture, values and commitment to quality every single day.

Leadership: Jarrod Bright, BMA

Jarrod was nominated for the Leadership award by his manager for the contributions he has made at BMA over the past four months. During this period with the absence of Front of House Manager, Jarrod has managed the services at BMA and his dedication has been instrumental in fostering a united and high-performing team, building strong relationships whilst providing a more integrated service delivery.

"Over the past six months, Jarrod has consistently demonstrated operational excellence, tenacity and diplomacy in his work, earning multiple nominations from his peers and commendations from our Client.


In the second photo, you can see Jarrod pictured with Diwas Thapa, one of the team members who nominated him. It's great to see how peer recognition can lead to such well-deserved acknowledgment.

Team: Fareham Shopping Centre

Through the first three months of 2025, the Fareham Security and Cleaning team has exemplified resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Despite facing significant challenges, the team has pulled together, supporting one another with additional shifts, evening work, and ensuring every aspect of service delivery remained seamless.

Their dedication has been particularly evident in the management of Fareham Live Walkthrough, where they have ensured consistent presence and upheld the safety and cleanliness of the centre with diligence and professionalism.

" A very strong team nomination. As a site, Fareham has experienced its fare share of changes and challenges over recent months and as a collective the team which remain have risen to the challenge and delivered an overall excellent service. Had it not been for the underlying commitment and positive sub-culture within the group this would not have been possible which ensures the solid foundations are in place for whenever the new Manager is appointed in due course.
